While Jodey Whiting was in hospital a letter dropped on her doormat that she never saw from the Department of Work and Pensions, asking her to attend an assessment. Despite needing daily care, her benefit payments stopped. While waiting for her appeal, Jodey killed herself. Jodey's mum, Joy Dove, took on the system and won justice for her daughter.
